Shipping & delivery

How long will it take for my order to ship? 

We process orders within 2-7 business days and notify you when your order has shipped. 

What are your shipping options and delivery times?

We now offer faster shipping options! Estimated delivery times are as follows:

United Kingdom:

Standard Shipping (5-11 business days) – Free for orders over £50, £4 for orders under £50

Standard Fast Shipping (4-9 business days) – £5

United States:

Standard International (7-12 business days) – Free for orders over £50, £4 for orders under £50

USPS (5-9 business days) – £8

Europe (France, Germany, etc.):

Standard International (6-11 business days) – Free for orders over £50, £4 for orders under £50

Asia-Pacific (Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, etc.):

Standard International (7-12 business days) – Free for orders over £50, £4 for orders under £50

Will I receive customs/import duties? 

Any customs or import duties are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. You may be charged for handling fees and taxes as your order passes through customs. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. We are not responsible for any customs and import duty charges. 

Your Local Girl has no control over these charges and we can't tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country. Before placing your order, we advise contacting your local customs office for information about the current fees so you won't be caught by surprise.

What happens if my package is lost or damaged during shipping?

In the unlikely event that your package is lost or damaged during shipping, please contact us immediately so that we can initiate a claim or replacement.

Can I track my order?

Yes! Once your order is shipped, you’ll receive an email with tracking details.

My order says delivered, but I haven’t received it. What should I do?

Sometimes couriers mark packages as delivered when they’ve been left in a safe place, handed to a neighbour, or placed in an unusual spot (like behind a plant pot or bin).

We recommend checking the courier tracking email for proof of delivery, which often includes a photo or delivery notes showing where the parcel was left.

Returns/Refunds

What is your refund policy?

  • You can return items within 14 calendar days of delivery.
  • Items must be unused, in original condition, with tags and packaging intact.
  • Once your return is approved, you have 7 calendar days to ship it back. If not shipped in time, the return may be refused.
  • All refunds are issued minus the original shipping cost.

Can I exchange an item? 

We are sorry to say we can’t offer exchanges, but you can send your item back for a refund and place a new order for a different size. If you have any questions about sizing, fit, or fabric, please reach out to our customer service before placing your order. 

How do I request a return or refund?

UK Orders

Use our Returns Portal to submit a return request — it's quick and easy.

We provide a free prepaid return shipping label for eligible UK returns.

International Orders

You're responsible for return shipping.

Please use a tracked service and keep your proof of postage.

Email us at help@your-localgirl.com to request the return address and instructions.

How long does it take to receive a refund after a return has been processed?

Once we've received and processed your return, it can take up to 4 days for your refund to be issued. The exact timeframe may depend on your payment method and bank processing times.

Why was my order refunded?

Your order may be refunded without prior notice for the following reasons: 


 1. Out of Stock: Occasionally, items may become unavailable after your order is placed due to high demand or unforeseen inventory discrepancies. In such cases, we refund the amount paid for the out of stock item promptly. 


2. Lost Parcel: Despite our best efforts to ensure timely delivery, parcels can occasionally be lost or misplaced by the delivery company. If there is no further tracking information available and a reasonable amount of time has passed since the expected delivery date, we initiate a refund to ensure you are not inconvenienced by the delay.


3. We're unable to ship to your region/address.
Please note that while we strive to minimise such occurrences, they can happen due to factors beyond our control. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. 

I received a damaged or wrong item — what do I do?

So sorry about that! While we have a dedicated quality control team that carefully checks every order before it’s shipped, mistakes can occasionally slip through, though it's very rare.

If your item arrives damaged or incorrect, please email us at help@your-localgirl.com within 24–48 hours of receiving your order. Be sure to include:

  • Your order number.
  • Clear photos of the issue.

We’ll review it and make things right as quickly as possible.

How do I know which size fits me? 

Our items are sourced from a variety of brands, so sizing may vary slightly between products. To make sure you get the perfect fit, please check the size chart provided in the product description before placing your order.

If a product doesn’t include a size chart or is labelled as a “regular fit,” we recommend choosing your usual size.

Do your items have brand tags?

Our store features a mix of independent brands and exclusive Your Local Girl pieces. Items from featured brands will retain their original tags and branding, while YLG exclusive pieces will arrive without branding or tags.

Please ensure that all tags remain attached until you're completely satisfied with your item, as we are unable to accept returns or issue refunds once the tags have been removed.
